First Verses is a series of books of new and original poetry for young children, chosen by John Foster. The first four titles were very well received, and Animal Rhymes is one of the second batch of four more First Verses titles. Animal Rhymes is full of many kinds of animal, from whales to elephants to worms and frogs. In the action rhymes you can jump like a kangaroo, swim like a dolphin, and be very hungry like a crocodile ... - balls, kites, playdough, skipping ropes - and lots of action rhymes to join in with.
